โ What is the Import Monitoring System (IMS)?
The Import Monitoring System (IMS) is a mandatory online registration system implemented by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) to monitor imports of certain specified items into India.
It requires importers to register specified goods in advance before customs clearance, helping the government track and manage inflow of sensitive or critical items.
