What is an RCMC?

An RCMC is issued by an Export Promotion Council (EPC), Commodity Board, or Development Authority that is authorized by the DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade). It certifies that the business is registered with the respective council and is eligible for export-related benefits.

Who Needs an RCMC?

Exporters or Importers who wish to:

• Claim export incentives like RoDTEP, RoSCTL, Duty Drawback, etc.

• Apply for schemes like EPCG, Advance Authorisation, SEIS/MEIS (replaced by RoDTEP/RoSCTL)

• Participate in international trade fairs and delegations through EPCs

• Obtain status holder certificates from DGFT

• Register as Merchant or Manufacturer Exporters

Issuing Authorities

Depending on the product or sector, issued by specific organizations such as:

Documents Required

• IEC Certificate (Importer Exporter Code)

• PAN Card of the business

• GST Registration

• Company incorporation documents

• Product List or Business Activity proof

• Past export turnover (if available)

Validity

• Certificate is valid for 5 years from the date of issue.

• Renewal must be done before expiry for uninterrupted export benefits.
