📜 EODC / License Redemption
✅ What is EODC?
EODC (Export Obligation Discharge Certificate) is the final compliance certificate issued by DGFT once an exporter fulfills the Export Obligation (EO) under schemes like:
✅ EPCG
✅ Advance Authorization
✅ DFIA
It signifies that the exporter has met all export requirements and is now exempt from any further liabilities or duties under that license.
Once EODC is received:
Customs clears the license from the bond
Exporter can avoid penalties or duty recovery
The license is marked as redeemed
Block-Wise Export Obligation (for EPCG Licenses)
Export obligations under EPCG are divided into two blocks:
Block Period | Export Obligation % | Timeline from License Date | Remarks |
---|---|---|---|
Block 1 | 50% of total EO | Within first 4 years | Must be fulfilled in time to avoid penalty |
Block 2 | Remaining 50% | Within next 2 years | Complete EO within 6 years total |
🔁 Failure to meet Block-wise EO may attract:
Composition fee
Delay charges
Show cause notices from DGFT
⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid
Delayed application beyond EO period
Missing e-BRCs or invalid shipping bills
Wrong calculation of FOB value or product codes
Not fulfilling block-wise EO
